No one should be surprised I have a lot of comments.  When I joined the Knights in 2007, I made it very clear to the Council 6020 leaders I was joining the Knights to get the Knights to become the champions of Eucharistic Adoration. Period.

 

The main issue at this time is that our Bishop has written a formal letter asking all the Knights of Columbus in the Diocese of Orange to do something.  Period.  The Knights of Columbus state over and over that when a priest or bishop asks the Knights to do something, the Knights do it.  Period. (that's my last "period").  Bishop Vann has asked the Knights to do something. Something incredible.  Something that will save souls from hell.  Something that can change the world. Something that will make heaven rejoice.

 

The problem with this request is we are not being asked to do something that we are comfortable doing.  We are being asked to do something incredibly important and heroic in the Spiritual Battle that will change the world, should the 2 million Knights ever do this.  But right now this is only in the Diocese of Orange (even though Bishop Barber in Oakland told me he would like to adopt his "friend" Bishop Vann's letter) and it is only for Council 6020.

 

Make no mistake!  This is not Steve Lovison and Nick Bezzina's idea.  We are only doing what the Bishop asked be done.  In my case I have to do it because the Bishop asked me personally to lead growth of Adoration in the Diocese and then, in addition, wrote a letter to all you Knights, and when he did, he put my name in the letter.  

 

For years, over a decade actually, I have been told "you have to be patient", "the Knights are not ready", "start small", "it will take 5 years."  Many of those who make these well meaning comments to me do not know how much has gone into this in the past.  As the timeline video below will show, we have been patient, we know the Knights are not ready, we did start small, and it has been over 5 years. 

 

As Father Angelo said in the Eucharistic Retreat Council 6020 put on in February of 2022 the greatest gift the world ever recieved is the Most Holy Eucharist.  The greatest tragedy in the history of the world is Catholics are lukewarm in their love of the Eucharist.

 

Also, I want to be clear.  I am not the person who originated the use of Pancakes as a metaphor for the lack of emphasis and lack of priority Councils have regarding Catholic spiritual tools, weapons, and the Spiritual Battle.  Supreme came up with that metaphor most notably in the very first paragraph of the very first announcement of Faith in Action.
